I’m thinking….

August 13, 2010

….Mabel? Maeve?

It’s really time I named the Beaute. And Mabel seems a good fit. But I realized it means “lovable” or “beautiful lover” which seem corny. Maeve means “intoxicating” which is much more alluring to me and fits more with midnight rides through the city….Maevy?

Perhaps too much of a mouthful (and I don’t like the shortened version) Millicent “Strong in work”

Any opinions?

….Maevy….I’m rolling it around on the tongue trying to get used to it.

btw, does Elenor really mean “pity”? It’s long been one of my favourite names but who would name a child “pity”?

I like Maeve. It carries a lot of mythological meaning in Irish folklore & mythology, including intoxication and power. It’s a good name.
